Does Anyone Care?

So, the Hollywood writers are still on strike. Does anyone actually care? The only thing that concerns me is the increase of reality TV shows. Problem is, once you’ve seen the best, how can anything else compare?

This week, if you listen very carefully, you will hear the agonizing screams of millions of wallets around the country. Console, PC, and portable gamers alike will have their finances sucked dry from a blitzkrieg of releases. It’s not like publishers are going to let you go either, oh no - the wallet raping will continue through the next week as well. Seriously, why can’t the games get spread out more through the spring and summer?

I’d like to apologize for my lack of an update last week. I was in Atlanta over the weekend to see the 49ers play the Falcons. Sadly, my team lost, but I got to enjoy a great tailgate party before the game. It’s understandable that most people visiting this site probably don’t give two flips about football, but the atmosphere of being with like-minded individuals really makes the whole experience worthwhile. Here’s a video clip of the event. Don’t ask about the anthems because I don’t quite understand them myself. If you look closely, you might catch a glimpse of Casey and me (#80, bottom right) in the video.

Finally, Casey and I saw comedians Rich Vos and Bonnie McFarlane at the Funny Farm in Atlanta. Both comedians were a riot, though Rich had to deal with an exceptionally drunk group. However, he did manage to turn them into some truly side-splitting material. I would highly recommend checking them out if they happen to be showing up near you anytime soon. A word of caution though: do not see their shows if it’s your birthday, especially if you are turning twenty-one and wearing a cheap plastic crown. Just trust me on this one.

Weeping Wallets Batman!

Greetings from Beau’s Eight-Sided Cage of Pain . . .

So the holiday season is in full effect and it is no surprise that all the big name titles I have been waiting for are on the release horizon. Assassin’s Creed, Contra 4, Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Kane and Lynch, Soldier of Fortune Payback . . . these are just a few of the titles for which I have been yearning. I would like to thank Sony, Microsoft, and most respectfully Mr. Nintendo for deciding to release all of these on TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 13th, 2007.

What the hell is wrong with you publishers? I am a working class stiff, and my wallet has a weight limit. The above list breaks that limit easily. You are preying on my inability to wait, my desire to own all of the above even though I can only play one at a time. I am WEAK, damn it, and you know it! Why could you not space these out over the holiday season. I’m pretty sure that it is called a season because it lasts longer than one day. Spread out your titles over a few of my paydays so that I don’t feel it all at once. For those of you that make enough money to purchase all your heart desires - seriously, UP YOURS!!! I need time to save to have this kind of purchasing power, but NO!!! Not for me, huh? A member of the loyal masses? Fine! If my landlord is reading this, um - the rent may be late.
