Inner Machinations

In case you didn’t know, Dover and I occassionally switch off writing duties for the MNC weekly comic. He pens the majority, but I contribute every so often. This is one of those weeks. My forwardness is only so you know who to blame/hate should you feel unfulfilled after reading us. Glad to help - it’s why I’m here.

Generally speaking, I’m not wild about writing on plans that we have for this website. Some of our intentions can change day to day as ideas either sparkle or fizzle. I can say with absolute confidence, though, that we are not going to be satisfied with our current structure and have been working toward a better solution for some time. I know that many established solutions exist, like Wordpress templates and the web equivalent of factory-made homes, but I know we can do better. The Monday Night Crew space will change and grow over time. However, the move toward a more robust space has been slow-going. For that I apologize.

Many challenges addressed in the creation of this site have acted as lessons for the entire Crew. We have a much better understanding of what people expect, and what we should be expected to provide. In the future, you will notice more dramatic alterations to our digs. Most of them are an absolute good. Some may be more subjective. We always love to hear what you have to say.

Who Is Nine?

Good question. Good luck trying to figure it out. ;)

Preparations for the upcoming HeroesCon in North Carolina are proceeding well. Irving and I spent a majority of this weekend out in the blistering Savannah heat creating a stand onto which to mount a large monitor. Following the schematic created by MAD, we sired an imposing monolith structure, the envy of the gods themselves. Okay, so maybe it’s not quite that impressive, but for a bunch of guys who don’t build things like this on a normal basis, we are pretty impressed with the results.

On the gaming front, I’ve unlocked all of the exercises in Wii Fit except the final two aerobic games. A quick peek at GameFAQs revealed them to be Free Run and Free Step. I should imagine that they are unlocked by focusing more time on the Run and Step games above them.

I decided to create a daily workout plan for Monday through Friday. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I will be doing yoga, strength training, a balance game, and taking my balance test. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be doing yoga, aerobic training, a balance game, and again taking my balance test. Weekends will have me doing some exercise not Wii Fit related and one day of rest. Once I come up with a finalized routine, I’ll create a tracking sheet to go along with it. The tracking sheet can be utilized by our readers so that they can follow along with me in the workout. The plan is to have the form complete and tested by the 16th of June. Hopefully the date will stick.

I tend to live my life in a very structured manner and while Wii Fit my not have me shedding pounds, it will allow me to organize a workout structure and follow it. Once the habit has been created, moving on to more advanced workouts and diets will be that much easier. Outside of mad profit, I believe that is the ultimate goal of the game.
