Like I said last week, I have typed a handy guide for handling yourself in a retail gaming store. You can download the first part of it here. Please make sure to read the guide even if you do not work in retail as it may be a bit of an eye opener for you as well. I will be busy working on the second part of it this week and have it ready for next Monday.
Looking at this holiday lineup, it has occurred to me that I will be spending little to no money on games this season. All of the big name games don’t interest me. Yeah, I am that guy...so sue me. The one game that matters to me is Left 4 Dead. If you have not seen or heard anything about it, you need to hit up YouTube for some L4D love. The entire MNC will be up and running on the 360 version and would love to play some 4v4 against anyone out there that’s interested.
I have been spending my time between Castlevania: Ecclesia and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. If you liked the prior GBA and DS titles, then you will like the newest Castlevania. It is not as though the game has evolved the mechanics or done anything different whatsoever, but it is still enjoyable. Basically, Ecclesia is like most sequels that we have seen in the last five to ten years. Establishing a strong core game and then tweaking it ever so slightly to keep the fans happy has been the order of our era. That plan seems to keep the current fanbase happy, but does not help the game reach out to newer players. I would imagine that Ecclesia will sell about the same or slightly less amount of copies that prior Castlevania titles have done. It shall surely be enough to keep everyone employed for a little while longer I suppose.
Make sure not to forget to pick up the AC/DC Track pack for your console of choice today at some Wal-Mart locations. Complain about the price later and try to remember that you are getting all of AC/DC’s biggest songs. You really cannot consider your Rock Band experience complete without it.
In fact, you could always make a day of it. Go to work, leave a bit early, vote, then go buy the track pack while you watch the results of the polls roll in. FUN! Seriously, make sure to get out there and vote. Vote Obama or McCain; just make sure to vote.
See you next week.

I heartily echo Dover’s sentiments regarding voting. Most of our readers are based in the States, and should know that tomorrow is a national election day. Assuming that you didn’t participate in early voting, and that you are over the age of eighteen but not a convicted felon, then November 4 is designated for you to cast your decision on whom should lead this country, along with various local and congressional contests. Assuming that you are not a New York Republican or an Alabama Democrat, then your vote matters. Stupid electoral college discrepancies aside, voting is a right not enjoyed by billions of people across the planet. This site is a fantastic reference for biographies, voting records, campaign finance money trails, and a wide variety of information on races across the United States. It is non-partisan, crafted and maintained by dedicated souls across all lengths of the political spectrum. It is wordy, but so is politics and so are the real-life issues that govern you. Investing an hour reading up on all the relevant candidates is surely more beneficial as a one time write-off than languishing on YouTube before checking whichever name sounds nicer in the voting booth.
Okay, enough soapbox posturing.
