The Smoker

The second comic in the "before they were famous" series is up and it features the Left 4 Dead Smoker. The concept is definitely a little more risqué than the MNC standard, but it’s also fairly believable at the same time. I’m honestly surprised that the Smoker would ever leave a lucrative job like that, but perhaps he wanted to branch out and not typecast into a single role his whole life.

This week’s gaming releases show a myriad of titles across all the major platforms. The games are certainly a bizarre mix of old fashioned hack-and-slash gameplay, a remixed remake, and an action dating game.

The first game showing up is Afro Samurai for the 360 and the PS3. Beau has assured me that he is going to pick up this hack-and-slash action game based on his love of the show. I expect him to deliver more fleshed out impressions in his "Eight Sided Cage Of Pain" later this week.

Next up is Rygar: The Battle of Argus. The latest, and hopefully final, in a series of PS2 to Wii ports. Creating a remake of the original PS2 version of Rygar and tacking on motion controls is one thing, but to change the look of the main character into some cast off Final Fantasy character is just completely out there. I’m sure this game will not sell to its intended audience, whomever the hell that is, and Tecmo will blame Nintendo. Regardless of the outcome, the game definitely would have sold at least a hundred more copies if they had just kept the Japanese name: Argos no Senshi: Muscle Impact. Hell yeah; muscle fucking impact!

Finally, we have a DS offering in the form of The Chase: Felix meets Felecity. They should have named the game The Chase: Kirby meets Bangai-O. This game combines the line drawing aspects of Kirby Canvas Curse with the fast-paced action and fruit collection of Bangai-O. As odd as it sounds, I’m actually interested trying it. Maybe I’m a sucker for a good trailer. I’ll probably pick it up when I finish up Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon in the next week or two.

That’s just about it. You may have noticed that I failed to mention MLB Front Office Manager. I figured that the twelve people that are going to buy that game probably aren’t readers of this site, so it's not that big of a deal. Irving likes the niche market stuff, so I’ll leave that game’s description to him.
