With this comic, we have officially reached 200 comics published. I would like to thank Irving, MAD, and the rest of the crew for having our backs through this fun little comic experiment. Here’s to hoping we don’t kill each other before 300.
As for today’s comic, we find ourselves once again bashing Dover’s absent love life. While it never gets old, I once again must step in to defend myself about the comic mirroring real life events. So, if any ladies are reading this, please know the truth: unlike my cartoon counterpart, I am not a half-minute hero but more like a quarter-minute disappointment. Bam! Self-zing.
I spent a few minutes reading over some of my older updates and realized that I tend to regurgitate information already found on other websites such as Joystiq, Kotaku, or GoNintendo. Therefore, I’m going to try and bring you a more personalized look at my gaming experiences and comment on the more prevalent gaming news, rather than rehash old stories better catalogued elsewhere.
I finished another chapter in the Final Fantasy IV: The After Years WiiWare game. This time around, I completed Porom’s tale. Her tale was a lot of fun in that about 70% of it was told through flashbacks. During these flashback scenes, the game used the original Super Nintendo sprites, bathing it in a quite literally old-school feel. Her story tied up a lot of the events of the main story and is bringing everything together quite nicely.
I now have one more tale to download and complete before moving on to the final chapter. I’ll probably spin it this weekend. The nice thing about all these tales is that they run around three to four hours each. While most RPG purists would cry foul, I find this perfect for my limited play time. Completing a game happens rarely with me unless I focus on it and play nothing else. Now if there was only some way to transfer my information to my DSi for gaming on the go. I’m sure it’s technically possible, but more effort for Nintendo than the worth. Oh well.
I picked up 6,000 Nintendo points today from Toys ‘R Us. The total came out to be $42 after tax. Not a bad deal at all. I found out that the points can be used on the Wii or the DSi, so it looks like I’ll have Shantae covered when it releases on the DSiWare store.
- Dover
A nice advantage about posting after Dover is that I can respond to his posts, though he must wait a day or two to respond to mine. It drives him mad, and I count that as a double bonus. Today’s comic is the 201st - our 200th was a celebration of Brütal Legend. We started numbering with zero, as all good iterators do, and so even though the url for today ends with 200 it is a deception. Entertaining fact: he did the exact same thing with 100, although that was edited out before posting.
